Saint Elizabeth Center

St. Elizabeth Center is a food pantry and thrift store (which is open to the public) that supports the pantry's mission to help those in need.

The Center was begun as a food pantry in the Saint Joseph Church in 1986, with the concept of the St Elizabeth Center pantry and thrift store being developed in 2004 to give people a chance for ownership and dignity.  The Center currently hosts food distribution events two Wednesdays each month, which provide food and hygiene items to clients. To help eliminate barriers, such as lack of transportation or awareness of the program, and to help build community partnerships, the Center often has other area service agencies join Center staff and volunteers during our food distributions. The Center also offers emergency assistance and referrals to other area programs. 

St Elizabeth Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, and is affiliated with Catholic Charities, Catholic Foundation, Second Harvest Food Bank of NWPA, the United Way of Venango County, and has been awarded grant support from funds distributed by PNC Charitable Trust and Bridge Builders Charitable Foundation. The Center fosters community partnerships with Venango County Human Services, Community Services of Venango County, Autism Stands, Salvation Army, Link the Valley (mobile dental unit), and may other area agencies. 

The St Elizabeth Center is  a 'choice-style' pantry where our neighbors in need 'shop' for their items. For example, they may choose which 3 vegetables from our selection that works best for their tastes and needs.
