Who We Are

Since 1916 St James has provided a place of worship and service for the community of Hopewell, Virginia. Though many changes have occurred throughout the years, St James still not only provides a location for its congregation to worship, but also a space where outreach to the community takes place. The parish hall is a place for social events and a feeding program which offers the community a free meal every Monday evening. Additionally, St James also collects items for the local cold weather shelter, supports our local domestic violence organization and pregnancy center, and provides financial assistance to those in danger of losing housing or utility connection. St James continues to be a positive presence to the City of Hopewell and a faithful Catholic community.
