Saint Matthew's Catholic School

St. Matthew's Catholic School was founded in 1963 to serve as an integral part of the parish ministry in providing a Catholic education for students aged 2 through 8th grade. As a co-educational Catholic school operating under the Roman Catholic Diocese of Richmond, we welcome students from all backgrounds. An academic journey at St. Matthews begins with a Christ-centered, Catholic environment that forms the foundation of learning for all students through spiritual, academic, and physical education.

On this Giving Tuesday, we humbly ask for your support toward a critical facility need for our school: the purchase and installation of two new air conditioning units atop our building. These units are essential to maintaining a safe, healthy, and comfortable learning environment for every student and teacher who walks through our doors.

For many months of the year, the temperatures in our classrooms climb quickly, and maintaining proper climate control is vital not only for comfort but for student focus, well-being, and academic success. Replacing these aging units will strengthen the quality of our learning spaces and support the growth and stability of our school for years to come.

We are a co-educational Catholic school operating under the Roman Catholic Diocese of Richmond. The school was founded in 1963 to serve as an integral part of the parish ministry in providing a Catholic education for students from 2 years of age through 8th grade. St. Matthew's welcomes students of all religious, racial, and ethnic backgrounds. Our strength lies in the fact we keep our tuition low, which allows us to welcome a diverse student population. Our student body is also made up of 26% military families. Any child in the community has an opportunity to attend our school to experience a rigorous academic curriculum along with a comprehensive leadership and character-building program.
