St. Bernadette Catholic School

BUILDING ON WHAT WE’VE REBUILT

Here at St. Bernadette School, we are no strangers to storms and we know the strength of community.

Living, worshiping, educating, and serving in South Louisiana, being prepared for what comes next is part of our reality. But if there is one thing our community knows how to do, it is come together.

As we reflect on the five years since Hurricane Ida, we are reminded not only of what our school experienced, but of everything our community accomplished together.

Hurricane Ida caused significant damage to our gym roof and property. Through tremendous perseverance, our parish community rebuilt and continued serving our families.

We are grateful for everything that has been restored and for every person who helped make that possible. Now, we have an opportunity to build upon what we have rebuilt.

This #iGiveCatholic, St. Bernadette School is joining parishes and schools throughout the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux in building a dedicated Parish & School Recovery Fund through the Catholic Foundation of South Louisiana.

Our goal is to raise $10,000.

This dedicated fund will strengthen the financial resources available to our school, helping us care for our facilities, address significant needs, and keep our mission moving forward for generations to come. This is an investment in the long-term strength of St. Bernadette School.

It means having resources available to care for the places where our community worships, learns, gathers, serves, and grows in faith.

Your Gift Can Go Even Further!

Through generous philanthropic partners working with the Catholic Foundation, matching funds are available to help our community reach its goal!

This means the gifts of our parishioners, school families, alumni, grandparents, friends, and local businesses can have an even greater impact.

It’s up to all of us. We want to build this together.

Whether your gift is $25, $100, $500, $1,000, or more, your participation makes a difference!

Why Does This Matter?

Our school is more than a building. It is where our students learn and grow, and where we encounter Christ each day.

Prudent stewardship means protecting what generations before us built while preparing responsibly for those who will come after us. Five years ago, Hurricane Ida reminded us how quickly circumstances can change.

Today, we have an opportunity to build upon that strength. We weathered the storm. We rebuilt together. Now, let’s strengthen what we love. Join us this Giving Tuesday through #iGiveCatholic and help us reach our $10,000 goal.
