🏛️ Help Restore the Hub of Our Parish: The Marquette Activity Center

Since 1982, the Marquette Activity Center (MAC) has been the community hub and heart of St. Agnes Church in Old Jefferson. Named in honor of Monsignor Preston Marquette, who faithfully served our parish until 1985, the MAC continues to be a vital gathering space for our Catholic community—hosting youth programs, senior activities, ministry meetings, and cherished parish traditions like Coffee & Donuts, the Men’s Club Lenten Fish Fry, the Altar Society Bingos and Teas, St. Vincent de Paul Thanksgiving and Christmas Basket Give outs, and St. Agnes Circle gatherings.

Thanks to your generosity last year, we upgraded the building’s lighting to energy-efficient LEDs and replaced one of our ADA-compliant entrance doors. This year, we need your help again.

🛠️ What Your Donation Will Support:

• Replacement of three additional exterior doors
• Interior and exterior painting to refresh and protect the building's walls
• A new building sign to replace the original from 1982
• Kitchen plumbing repairs and new flooring
• Repair or replacement of the MAC's additional A/C unit

These repairs are essential to preserve the MAC as a welcoming, functional space for all who walk through its doors. Our goal for the 2025–2026 campaign is to raise $20,000 to offset these renovation costs.

St. Agnes Church, located at 3310 Jefferson Highway in the heart of Old Jefferson and established in 1931. Our parish community, thriving for over 90 years, is committed to welcoming with open arms all those who wish to celebrate their Catholic faith and community. 

 

Dedicated in 1957, St. Agnes Church is celebrated for its reverent beauty and architectural grace. Inspired by St. Agnes of Rome, virgin martyr, our mission is to be a God centered Catholic Community, serving the needs of parishioners and the surrounding community through active love, devotion and prayer. 

 

Its stunning interior features altars, platforms, and statues crafted from exquisite Italian marble; alongside large stained-glass windows made from mouth-blown glass. The bell tower boasts four bells, each named after a saint: St. Agnes, St. Francis, St. Theresa and St. St. Maria Goretti. The altar stone holds antique relics of martyrs Honorius and Eugenius.

 

Adjacent to the church is our school building, which nurtured over 70 graduating classes before becoming home to the Jefferson Foundation Academy, which leases the space, providing an alternative pathway for students to earn a high school diploma.
