THE GOAL OF OUR IGIVE CATHOLIC CAMPAIGN
Due to your generosity and support of iGive Catholic last year, we were able to provide additional resources to our parish family. We subscribed to Catholic Brain, an online program dedicated to children. We also purchased equipment to livestream Masses (including the Triduum), First Communions, Confirmations, and funerals. And we are currently in the process of purchasing a much-needed telephone system. Our buildings are old and in disrepair; therefore, we will renovate and repair as funds are available. We appreciate your continued support and always know that we are here for you.

THE HISTORY OF ST. ANSELM
In 1841 the first parish on the Northshore, St. Francis Xavier, was established in Madisonville. For years, a priest would travel from St. Louis Cathedral by skiff to celebrate mass. When the Benedictine monks relocated to St. Benedict in the 1880s, a priest was sent from the Abbey to serve the people. In the early twentieth century, a second church, St. Catherine of Alexandria, was erected. Eventually both churches became one; a new church, St. Anselm, was dedicated in 1965. Our former pastor, Fr. Alan Weseman had a vision and plans for a new church to accommodate his parishioners. After his death and Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Rev. Msgr. Frank Giroir was called upon to shepherd the people and build the new church. Msgr. Giroir has done this and so much more.
If you are ever in Madisonville, please stop in. You are always welcome at St. Anselm!
