St. Charles Borromeo Church

The Hurricane Ida Restoration project has been a long and arduous process.  As we move through the repairs covered by FEMA and Insurance (replace roofs, replace sheetrock walls, painting, replace drop ceiling, replace flooring, church pews, some windows, etc. totaling approximately $3,000,000.00), other problems have surfaced such as A/C & Heating Repairs that were above the drop ceiling filled with mold or simply old and needed to be replaced.  Because a lot of this work was not in the original scope of the estimate covered by FEMA, our parish is responsible for the cost to repair them and of course now is the time to perform those repairs while the old ceiling tile is down.  A large portion of the dollars collected for this IGiveCatholic Campaign will help recoup the replacement costs for the Air Conditioner ductwork.  In addition to these A/C repairs, donations will go towards the installation of a new fence around our school to create a more secure environment for our children.  The location of this fence will hardly be noticed from the front parking lot still  allowing access to the Church, Adoration Chapel, Parish Office, Meeting Rooms, Youth Center and Fatima Building to be unchanged.  Another smaller portion of this IGiveCatholic Campaign will help fund new cushions to the seating of the new pews.  Please view the attached Case Statement brochure that explains all other areas that can be funded through your generous tax deductible donation including the replacement of the Youth Center & Rectory furniture lost by Hurricane Ida.  And now that we have secure roofs on all our building with a new A/C System, it would be sensible to replace all old windows with newer energy efficient windows to keep that conditioned air inside.  If, after reviewing the Case Statement, you still have questions, please do not hesitate to call Ronald at the Parish Office at (985)764-6383 for further clarification.  Thank you so much for taking ownership in maintaining our beautiful spiritual home nestled under our majestic ancient oaks for over 300 years.

Who We Are

Our current capital improvement project, "Enhancing Our Faith Environment", includes the construction of a new, larger, sound-proof, stand-alone, handicapped-accessible, perpetual adoration chapel equipped with a restroom, beautiful interior furnishings and an exterior courtyard with connecting archways that features a life-size, white, marble statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus upon entering the new chapel. Other enhancements include the addition of interior restrooms at all four corners of our church, improvements to our current sacristy and redesign of the existing adoration chapel for a secondary working sacristy for altar servers, readers & extra-ordinary ministers of the Holy Eucharist. This sacristy will also include a restroom for the infant/guardian chapel and for congregation use. We will also replace the pathway for school carpool (from the front parking lot to the school entrance) with concrete bridges and walkways. The old doors and windows of the parish meeting rooms will be replaced.
