For eighty years, St. Dominic Catholic School has been more than a place where children learn. It has been a ministry—a small, steady light in Kingsport, forming hearts in Christ’s image and welcoming families into a community where faith feels like home.

From our beginnings in 1945 with the Dominican Fathers and the Sisters of Mercy to the joyful classrooms of today, our story has always been shaped by little gifts: a teacher’s encouragement, a child’s first prayer, a family rediscovering their faith through their child, a community that shows up again and again.

These little gifts have built something beautiful.  And now, as we celebrate 80 years, we’re inviting our parish, families, alumni, and friends to help us carry this mission forward.

What Is the 80 Little Gifts Challenge?

To honor our 80th anniversary, we’re asking our community to make a small gift with an “8” in it—$8, $18, $28, $80, $108, $208…any amount that fits your family.

In just the past two years, eleven families in our parish OCIA program came to the Church through the seeds planted in our school.  Children grow more confident, more kind, more rooted in faith.  Parents rediscover a spiritual home.  Grandparents find joy in seeing their legacy passed on.
