Our iGiveCatholic Campaign: Enhancing the Preschool Playground for St. Dominic’s Youngest Learners

At St. Dominic Catholic School, our commitment to nurturing young hearts and minds starts early. Our preschool program, recognized by the Tennessee Department of Education, provides a structured, faith-based foundation that fosters growth in all areas: spiritual, social, intellectual, and physical. This year, as we participate in the iGiveCatholic campaign, we’re focusing on creating an inspiring, safe, and joyful outdoor space for our preschool students with key upgrades to their playground.

Why Our Preschool Program is Special Our state-accredited preschool program for ages 3-5 offers an elevated level of care and education. The Tennessee Department of Education’s recognition ensures that we meet rigorous standards in curriculum, teaching methods, and safety—all in a warm, nurturing environment where young children can thrive. For parents, this means peace of mind, knowing their children are receiving quality education and developing essential skills within a supportive Catholic setting.

Our Project Goals for the Playground:

• Shade Structure Installation: A shaded area to protect children during outdoor activities, giving them a comfortable, safe space to explore, play, and learn.
• Staining and Refreshing Equipment: Re-staining and refurbishing the wooden structures to maintain a safe and welcoming play environment for years to come.
• Replacing Railroad Ties: Ensuring a sturdy, secure boundary and pathway for safe play and exploration.
• STEM Play Additions: Integrating hands-on STEM elements to spark curiosity and early learning in a natural setting.

Who We Are

Saint Dominic Catholic School has been serving the Kingsport community since 1945. Our school is family centered where decisions, traditions and teachings originate from our Catholic roots as we learn, pray, and encourage one another. We ensure the formation of the whole child, providing strong academics as well as opportunities for personal and spiritual growth. In addition to direct academic instruction, students attend weekly classes in art, music, physical education, library and health.
