St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Oxon Hill

A nonprofit organization

Thank you for considering our parish on #iGiveCatholic Giving Day.

St Ignatius (saint-ig.org) is a Catholic Church of the Archdiocese of Washington.  We are partnered in mission with St. Luke's Catholic Church, a parish of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter (stlukesordinariate.com)

Over the last five years with the help of St. Luke's and many other donors, we have repaired much of our failing physical plant.  We are almost done.  The largest expenditure was to repair the Bell Tower in our Registered Historic Landmark church. While this was done we restored and painted the exterior wood of the church.

Phase I (the investigation and repair design=complete)

Phase II (the repair) cost over $600,000=complete.

Other related restoration projects:

  • Roof replacement (complete)
  • Storm windows to protect the stained glass and enhance the vibrancy of the discolored plexiglass
  • Front door weatherproofing and restoration
  • Organ refurbishing (planned and funded)
  • Wheel chair ramp repair
  • Retaining wall beneath the church for structural integrity

YOU CAN HELP US CLOSE THIS PROJECT

We will soon repair the wheelchair ramp & install a cement retaining wall beneath the sanctuary of the church building.

This giving day we are hoping to raise $50,000.00 to address the wheelchair ramp and retaining wall.

Won't you help us preserve this beautiful church?
