St. Lawrence’s iGiveCatholic 2025 goal is to raise $85,000 for a new piano in the church and $15,000 to pay for a new well. Thanks to a generous donor, the cost of the well has now been paid for.

The new piano will serve to enhance our liturgical music as our current piano is in need of repair. Since the piano is frequently used as part of our liturgical worship at St. Lawrence, we would like to invest in a piano that will last for years to come and we believe that rather than investing in repair, it would be a better use of funds to invest in a new quality piano.

Our current piano, which has been in use since 1992, is showing significant wear in its mechanical components and would require extensive rebuilding to restore it to full performance. Given its age and condition, we believe it is a better long-term investment to purchase a new instrument rather than repair the current one.

Our piano is used frequently for our liturgies with several ensembles and so a reliable, high-quality instrument will aid in offering beautiful liturgical music for our parish.

The piano we would like to purchase is a Steinway Model O 5’10” Grand Piano (Ebony Polish, American handmade), available to us at a discounted price of $85,000, which regularly sells for $109,900. Steinway instruments are renowned for their craftsmanship, durability, and tonal excellence.

The current church piano would be relocated to the St. Lawrence Room in the Family Life Center to replace an even older piano, used for devotional services, which we will donate to a needy parish.

Although the initial cost of a new piano is greater than repairing the existing one, it will provide greater long-term value through reliability, reduced maintenance, and superior sound quality. This investment will ensure that music continues to enhance and uplift our worship for many years to come.

The new well will make a lasting impact by significantly lowering irrigation costs for our new landscape while also helping us live out our call to be good stewards of God’s creation. The installation of the well will pay for itself after one year of savings on irrigation cost.  This project will help sustain the beauty of our parish campus, and keep it a place of welcome, reflection, and growth for all who come to encounter Christ.
