Saint Mary Parish has a truly unique origin story—born in the heart of the Atomic Age during the development of Oak Ridge, Tennessee in 1943. From its earliest days, the parish has faithfully served the spiritual needs of a growing Catholic community, rooted in tradition and enriched by generations of new parishioners. In 1950, the community came together to construct both our first church and Saint Mary’s School, a testament to their deep commitment to faith and education.

That same year, the Dominican Sisters of the Congregation of Saint Cecilia—founded in Nashville in 1860—joined our mission, preparing children for the sacraments and staffing our new school. Their legacy of service and formation continues to shape our parish life today.

Saint Mary’s School, now a thriving Preschool–8th grade institution, is known for its dynamic STREAM curriculum, blending science, technology, religion, engineering, arts, and mathematics. With small class sizes, personalized instruction, and a wide range of extracurriculars, it remains a cornerstone of our parish’s mission.

This year, our #iGiveCatholic goal is $5,000 to replace and add furniture and make updates to the narthex. We’re creating a space that reflects the beauty of God’s house and welcomes every soul with warmth and reverence, complementing the beautiful work already underway.

Your support helps us continue this legacy of faith, learning, and community. Every gift strengthens our ability to worship, serve, educate, and grow—just as we have since 1943.
