Our school intercoms are in need of updating, and we need your help to make it happen! School intercom systems are essential for maintaining safety in educational environments because they enable rapid and effective communication during emergencies. These systems allow school administrators to broadcast critical information to students, staff, and visitors in real time, ensuring that everyone is informed and can respond appropriately to situations like fire drills, lockdowns, or severe weather events.
In addition to emergency communication, intercoms facilitate day-to-day operational efficiency, such as announcing schedule changes or locating individuals quickly, which contributes to a well-organized and safe environment. By providing a centralized method of communication, school intercoms minimize confusion, reduce response times, and enhance coordination during both routine and high-stress scenarios, ultimately protecting the well-being of everyone on campus.
Since 2022, we have been able to raise enough money, thanks to your generosity, to construct a security fence around our school campus and upgrade areas like bathrooms. This year, the school's goal is to raise $25,000 to establish an additional layer of protection by updating our intercom system to ensure intercommunication is effective in every classroom and space. Will you help make this possible?
#iGiveCatholic Advanced Giving begins November 18 and runs through December 2. GivingTuesday is December 3! This is a special opportunity to show our gratitude for the many blessings we have received from those who continue to support SMNS! Thank you for caring for our students, staff, and the future of our school.
St. Mary’s Nativity School is a pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8 Catholic Elementary School under the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux’s Office of Catholic Schools. We integrate the principles of the Roman Catholic Church while providing an excellent academic education for a life-learning process that meets the needs of this Christ-centered school and challenges each student to reach his/her potential while instilling leadership and advocating justice and respect.
Beliefs:
Instilling a love of God and a respect for all His creations will foster Christ-like attitudes within the school, community, and world.
Children learn Christ-like attitudes when taught in a spiritual and loving atmosphere.
A student’s self-esteem is enhanced by positive relationships and mutual respect among and between students and staff.
Each student is a valued individual with unique physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs.
An academic and nurturing environment fosters educational growth.
Children learn best when our staff maintains high expectations for student learning.
Children must be academically challenged in order to meet the needs of the day and the challenges of tomorrow.
When parents are involved in the learning process, children perform at a higher level of achievement.
The commitment to continuous improvement is imperative if our school is going to enable students to become life-long learners.
Goals
To provide an excellent academic education that challenges the ability of our students.
To ensure the ongoing spiritual formation of the teachers and students.
