St. Michael Catholic Church (Vicksburg)

Our current Church was constructed in 1988.  Presently the air conditioning unit in the church is the original unit that was installed when the church was constructed.  The functionality of the unit has been in decline over the past few years.  Repairs more frequent and costly due to the age of the unit.  We hoped to replace the entire unit before the summer of 2025, .  

Last year we set a goal of $30,000 to replace the aging a/c until which we estimated to be between $30,000 & $50,000.  Thankfully, through the generous outpouring of support from our parish we reached our goal of $30,000.  When we began preparations to replace the a/c unit we were shocked to discover that the boiler and air handler switch had to be replaced in addition to the a/c unit.  We obtained several estimates only to discover that the lowest estimate was approximately $150,000!

Our current a/c unit, boiler, and air handler switch will not make it another summer in our hot and humid Mississippi heat.  In order to complete the repairs before spring when the temperature begins to rise, we had to order the new equipment, which will arrive in January.  We have the funds raised from last year in savings, but $30,000 will not cover the costs.  Our goal this year is to raise an additional $110,000.  With your generous support, we are confident that we are will reach our goal.  All contributions are toward this project are tax deductible.
