Walsh is a life-long parishioner of St. Richard who happens to have Down Syndrome. She was the “original” Special Kid along with John “Scooter” Chaplain. She has been involved in the parish in various ways and currently is retired (or semi-retired) from the St. Richard School Cafeteria. e buildings may be named for leaders of industry, academic giants or saints, we decided that our education building and outdoor classroom be named for Eve Walsh, who is the best of us. The St. Richard School is a school that is powered by our special kids and the different. While we maintain an excellence in education and our students matriculate to excellent high schools following St Richard, we also hold the same standards for our special kids. Eve
Walsh will tell you “I was born ready!” Her parents and the community of St. Richard helped make her ready and she has paid us back with service and loyalty. We
