St. Robert Bellarmine Parish Goal:  $50,000 in Matching Funds for School Safety Improvements

We are improving the safety of our school and campus. Thank you for your support to raise 25% of our total matching funds ($200,000) for an award from the Lavigne Foundation, which will be used for the following school and parish improvements:

1. Replace old school classroom doors with upgraded doors and locks designed to ensure classrooms can be quickly and effectively secured in an emergency. Add quick-drop blinds to windows. 
2. Add ballistic window film on high-exposure windows throughout the school and church. The film adds an essential layer of protection that helps prevent shattering and delays intrusion; it provides valuable time for students and staff to seek safety while waiting for emergency responders to arrive. 
3. Install cement bollards around exterior of the fence that surrounds our athletic field, providing a strong physical barrier between our students and the high-volume, high-speed traffic on both Pacific St. and 120th St. This measure significantly reduces the risk of vehicles entering the field, protecting students during outdoor activities. 

These priorities were identified based on a 2023 security audit and analysis conducted by the parish’s security consultant, Stronghold Consulting.
