We all know the importance of the priesthood! Who doesn't want a priest in their parish? However, we are facing troubling times when having a priest in a parish might not be able to occur. Here at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Parish in Cape Girardeau we pray for vocations to the priesthood. In every Rosary, we pray an additional "Ave" (Hail Mary) for each decade. We offer that extra "Ave"  that our parish will be able to foster a seminarian from our Parish. However, in addition to the prayer...we also want to "pay" for vocations! 

St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Community in Cape Girardeau wants to help seminarians from our Parish to pay for the tuition costs of going to school. It's not cheap going to seminary! To advance the cause of helping young men to choose this vocation, we want to ease the financial burden for families of seminarians.

We currently have 3 Diocesan seminarians from our Parish. As Pastor, I would like to be able to offer $5,000 to each seminarian annually for seminary tuition cost. Unlike student loans, this gift from the Parish would be a scholarship that the young man would not have to pay back if he discerned out of seminary.
