St. Agnes Home (Carmelite Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus)

The work of the Sisters began more than 100 years ago when our Blessed Foundress, Mother Maria Teresa of St. Joseph opened the first home for homeless and neglected children in 1891 in Berlin. Since that time, we have worked tirelessly to love and honor God through our work with those most in need in our community and around the world. We have taken a vow of poverty and we engage in this joyful work out of love and a deep commitment to the Divine Heart of Jesus. Centered on a commitment to the young and the old, support for the Sisters ensures that this work continues and that the Sisters have the resources they need to continue these important missions locally and around the world. The following are the focus area of the Carmelite Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus, South Central Province: St. Agnes Home, Kirkwood, MO; Carmelite Child Development Center, Kirkwood, MO; Carmel Home, Owensboro, KY; Missions in Venezuela and Nicaragua.

At St. Agnes Home, our residents love spending time outdoors—enjoying the sunshine, fresh air, and the beauty of our grounds. This year, through our #iGiveCatholic campaign, we are raising funds to create more comfortable and welcoming outdoor gathering spaces for our residents and their guests.

Your generosity will help us add two gazebos with outdoor furniture and a sun shade sail in our Care Center Courtyard. These additions will provide shaded, inviting areas where residents can relax, visit with family, and enjoy God’s creation—while being protected from the sun.
