St. Francis Xavier Cathedral is one of the most beautiful places in Alexandria.  The depth of its beauty is a true visual representation of the Holy Spirit active in our Diocese.  From the architectural elements of the Late Gothic Revival, the beautiful rose windows which are the largest in the state to the majestic 48-rank Reuterpipe organ, the Cathedral is a truly special place of worship.

Supporting the Liturgies of St. Francis Xavier Cathedral

This year's I Give Catholic Campaign will help fund the upgrade of our church's sound system.  You may have noticed over the last several months, the quality of the sound during the liturgies has diminished.  Due to the age of the equipment and its daily use, most of the controlling hardware is need of replacement.

A generous donation of $10,000.00 has already been made for the new equipment along with most of the labor will be donated. But the total cost is around $22,000.

The new sound system will ensure that the lectors and clergy are heard evenly throughout the church with minimal dead spots. This upgrade includes replacing all existing speakers and adding additional units throughout the church to achieve consistent coverage. The foyer and choir loft speakers will also be updated, and a new control unit will be installed to complete the system.

Through your generosity, we hope to receive additional donations to replace the needed equipment so that the beauty of the liturgy is honored in the sacred space that is the Cathedral.

Thank you for your trust and belief along with your continued support of St. Francis Xavier Cathedral.
