St. Thomas More (Manhattan, Kansas)

St. Thomas More Parish is excited to be taking part in the 2026 #iGiveCatholic Campaign. This year’s campaign proceeds will be earmarked to complete the Prayer Garden on the church grounds.

Msgr. Armand Girard planted the seed for a prayer garden. Over the years, plans have been drawn and money has been donated. The installation of the STM Memorial Walls (columbarium) in 2019 completed Phase 1 of the installation process.

Recently, the finance council voted to change the plans to a smaller footprint in order to reduce initial costs as well as future maintenance.  Fr. Coady asked Darren Juenemann and Jud Gladin to design an open-air structure that would define the space and visually separate it from the rest of that grassy area southeast of the church.  The structure will be installed adjacent to the logia that borders the columbarium walls and will provide a quiet space where people can pray.  It will also increase the area where people can stand during committal services.

The first $30,000 #iGiveCatholic funds will be matched dollar for dollar. If necessary, fundraising efforts will continue after the #iGiveCatholic Campaign concludes.
