Our Mission

TCU Catholic is a home for all students to find rest and a family to walk with on their journey to becoming who God created them to be. Guided by the Holy Spirit and rooted in the Sacraments, we strive to spread the love and Good News of Jesus Christ to the TCU community.

Our Campus Community

TCU Catholic is an ever-growing community for students to grow in their faith with other Catholic students.  We are blessed to operate as an official TCU student organization, and we strive to fulfill the spiritual and social needs of students.  Our home, the Newman Center, provides students a close and safe space to study, pray, and hang out with each other.  The Newman Center has seen upgrades and expansions thanks to the generosity of the Diocese of Fort Worth. As our community continues to grow, we are looking for new ways to better serve our community. Our goals have been carefully planned to continue extending outreach to a greater number of students.

Our Goals

This past semester has been a testament to the TCU Catholic Servant Leadership Council’s determination in rebuilding and expanding the community further.  With students coming from all across the world, TCU Catholic is experiencing growth like never before! With increased access to the Sacraments, service events, opportunities for community talks and small groups, TCU Catholic is a sacred space and home for students as they navigate a new chapter of their lives. Within our student Service Leadership Council (SLC) we have many committees committed to serving our TCU Catholic community. This year we have challenged each team to create a short video describing what they do and how your funds will benefit them and the rest of TCU Catholic, in an effort to have some friendly competition. If you would like to partner with a specific committee, please note that in your donation! These students are dedicated to their Catholic faith, and your support allows for the Newman Center to continue to be a home for them to find fellowship with the Lord:

Public Relations (PR) - Our PR team is in charge of all TCU Catholic social Media! They create beautiful flyers for all of the events that TCU Catholic hosts for students and the community. Additionally, the PR committee makes the designs for the merch we put out for the TCU Catholic community to purchase.

Liturgical Needs - We have been blessed to have a dedicated Priest serving the TCU Catholic Community, Very Rev. Jonathan C. Wallis, Vicar General, along with our newly assigned Priest serving as Assistant Chaplain, Fr. Brett Metzler. TCU Catholic now has the ability to offer more Mass times and dates for students to attend and we are looking to update some of our liturgical items. Please consider contributing for liturgical needs.

Social - TCU Catholic values the development of the students not only in their faith life but as a whole person. This includes providing social events for students to look forward to throughout the semester. Whether it be day hiking trips, crawfish boils, pumpkin carving contests, video games, or movie nights, TCU Catholic is blessed to have the opportunity to provide a safe environment where students can fulfill their social needs. Please consider helping us to continue providing activities and events for the community.

Pro-Life Coordinator - Our Pro-Life Coordinator works to stay informed on Pro-Life updates, and creates events for students, such as volunteering at women's shelters or setting up donation boxes for new and expecting mothers.

Service - The Service committee is dedicated to finding opportunities in the local community for TCU Catholic students to volunteer and give back. Your donation to this committee will allow for our student to extend the reach of their volunteer.

Music - Since Masses are now additionally held in the Newman Center, we have new demands for technology and equipment to host the celebrations.  Please consider contributing to our goal for A/V improvements and related musical equipment. Watch a message from our Music committeeFr

Freshman Outreach - We strive to create a fun and welcoming environment for all freshman, and our students are very intentional with inviting freshmen to come into the Newman Center.

Prayer - Our Prayer committee works to incorporate the liturgical calendar into the day-to-day life of the TCU Catholic community. They engage the community in prayerful experiences such as novenas, consecrations, petitions, etc.

Faith Formation - Our Faith Formation team is in charge of …
