Help Sustain a Hidden Mission

Support the Sisters of the Spiritual Family The Work serving in Erie since 2008.

We are an international Community with papal recognition present in 12 countries.

“The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into three measures of flour until it was all leavened.” Matthew 13:33

Jesus Christ calls His disciples to be leaven in the world—a quiet, transformative presence that helps the Gospel rise in hearts, homes, and communities. As Sisters of the Spiritual Family The Work we respond to this call with our whole lives. Rooted in Eucharistic devotion and dedicated to the Church, we strive to be a  reflection of Jesus Christ.

We serve in different ministries: one Sister fosters learning at the Barber National Institute, another strengthens diocesan faith formation efforts through administrative support, and a third accompanies adults in parish life —each living Christ’s call through daily, dedicated service. In addition, we nurture the growth of our own religious community and walk alongside lay people and associates who share in our mission—offering formation, encouragement, and spiritual accompaniment. 


Here’s what your gift makes possible:

  • Annual Silent Women’s Retreat:  An opportunity for lay women to encounter Christ in silence, prayer, and reflection. We organize, prepare materials, welcome participants, and accompany them spiritually and give stipends to women who experience financial hardship. This retreat attracts up to 70 women annually.
  • Spiritual Support : We walk alongside those who share in our mission, offering formation, encouragement, and spiritual direction.
  • Outreach: We offer one-on-one accompaniment rooted in prayer, Scripture, and discernment—helping others listen to God’s voice in their lives. We give retreats and talks and help young women seeking their vocation in life.

 Behind each retreat, conversation, and act of service are real costs:

  • A reliable car for our ministry. 
  • Fees for religious  worker visa  (approx. $ 830).
  • Ongoing maintenance of our community property and day - to - day operating costs.

Your generosity helps secure the presence of our Sisters in Erie—so we can continue to serve, pray, and show the beauty of the Church.

A weekly Mass is celebrated for our benefactors.
