Center for Social Concerns Mission Statement :
The Center for Social Concerns (CSC) equips students and campus colleagues to engage with Gannon’s communities, both local and global, through purposeful service, exploration, and action for the common good.
About ABSTs:
Alternative Break Service Trips (ABSTs) are student-led, small group service and learning immersion experiences rooted in four pillars of service, simplicity, community, and reflection. The purpose of the ABST Program is for students to immerse themselves in service and learning opportunities, develop as socially responsible global citizens, and increase their self-awareness. Through these week-long co-curricular experiences, students travel with faculty/staff accompaniers both to domestic and international locations to learn and serve with established community partners.
By making a gift to the ABST Program, you will provide support for things such as:
- Scholarships to help offset ABST trips for students struggling to make ends meet
- Cultural immersion experiences for Gannon students
- Transportation to and from service trips
- Supplies necessary to keep students safe and healthy
“This trip was probably the best choice I’ve made since coming to Gannon.” – Brady Johnson ‘24, Environmental Engineering
