For more than 50 years, the USCCB-Church in Latin America program has been a sign of solidarity between Catholics of the United States and those in Latin America and the Caribbean. For many living in Latin America and the Caribbean, a rising secular culture, difficult rural terrain, and a shortage of ministers make it difficult for people to practice the faith.
For example, Federación San José de Guadalupe is a network of 37 monasteries of Carmelite nuns throughout 21 states in Mexico. As a beneficiary of donations to the USCCB-Church in Latin America program, Federación San José de Guadalupe helps cover the cost of food, clothing, and healthcare for women at all stages of initial formation at Carmelite monasteries in Mexico. Their contemplative prayer is at the heart of the Church’s prayer of intercession for the many needs of humanity and the world.
Your donations to this program fund essential activities of the local Church, including catechesis, marriage and family life programs, and seminarian formation so people can grow closer to Christ. You help share the faith.
