Named for the Church’s great defender, the Saint Michael Project reflects our belief that safety and faith go hand in hand. Saint Michael stands as a symbol of courage, vigilance, and protection, and this initiative mirrors those qualities. It is designed to preserve the warm, welcoming Catholic environment our families love while implementing the safety measures today’s schools require.

The project focuses on several key enhancements:

A Dedicated, County-Employed Police Officer on Campus

Having a sworn officer on campus each day provides immediate response capability, professional training, and a visible layer of protection. This presence strengthens our partnership with local law enforcement, supports teachers and administrators, and offers families the peace of mind they deserve. The officer becomes part of our community — greeting students, building relationships, and helping maintain a safe and steady environment.

Upgraded Surveillance Cameras and Monitoring Systems

Modernizing our camera system improves clarity, increases coverage, and allows for real-time monitoring when needed. These upgrades reduce blind spots, improve emergency response, and help staff manage daily activity with greater awareness. Better technology creates a safer campus without changing the character or feel of the school.

State-of-the-Art Weapons Detection Software

This advanced tool operates quietly in the background, scanning for potential threats through smart, unobtrusive recognition technology. It alerts trained staff immediately if a concern is detected, allowing for rapid action. This system adds a meaningful layer of protection without disrupting the flow of the school day or the welcoming culture that defines SEES.

Additional Campus Safety Improvements

As resources allow, Phase II of the project may include enhanced access control, expanded lighting, improved communications systems, safety training for staff and volunteers, and continued growth of our Eagle Eye parent safety initiative. Together, these improvements help us build a multi-layered, modern, and responsible safety plan.
