2025 Fall Semester Appeal

At the SU Catholic Center, we see the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi alive every day. Students gather in growing numbers to celebrate Mass, share meals, serve others, and deepen their faith. Our Thursday and Sunday liturgies are overflowing—so much so that we’re running out of chairs! And yet, what fills the space more than bodies is the palpable joy and fellowship that define our Catholic 'Cuse family.

This fall, we’ve already seen incredible moments of grace:

• Mass attendance: Participation remains strong and continues to grow with the highest numbers in recent memory. Attendance reaches approximately 350 on Sundays.
• Blue Mountain Lake Retreat: Dozens of students found peace and renewal, praying the psalms and reflecting on God’s presence in nature. Registrations exceeded available spots!
• Sandwich Ministry: Our students make and deliver over 700 sandwiches a month for the Assumption Food Pantry—living out the Gospel through action.
• Community Nights: From praying The Rosary to small faith sharing groups, students are building friendships rooted in faith.

One student shared: “I've been coming to the 10:30 am Mass since my freshman year and really love it here. My parents beg to come with me whenever they're in town. I've been thinking about becoming confirmed since my senior year of high school, after being lost for a while in my faith. I never felt my faith the strongest or felt as welcome as I do here.” Lana’s words echo the experience of so many seeking connection, community and purpose.

But this vibrant ministry doesn’t run on spirit alone. Behind every liturgy, retreat, Bible Study, and moment of service are the operational realities that keep our mission alive: utilities, supplies, day-to-day essentials, and the salaries of dedicated, qualified ministers who walk with students on their faith journeys that make our Catholic Center a true home away from home.
