Fiorella Durand Supporting CCH!

Hi! My name is Fiorella Durand, and I’m a student connected with the Catholic Community at Johns Hopkins (CCH). Being part of this ministry has been such a blessing in my life. Through CCH, I have experienced significant personal and spiritual growth, and I have never felt closer to the Lord! Being surrounded by such an amazing, faith-filled community has truly changed my life for the better.

OUR GOAL

This Giving Tuesday, our ministry has set a goal of $40,000 to support CCH retreats for a whole year! Retreats are the heart of our ministry — they give students a chance to step away from the pressures of life on campus, encounter God in prayer, experience His mercy in the sacraments, and build genuine friendships rooted in faith! 

MY STORY

On retreat, students come to know Christ in ways that truly change their lives. Some encounter Him in confession or adoration for the first time in years, while others find the strength to live their faith more deeply on campus. For me, retreats have served as invaluable periods of time where I can truly quiet my heart and mind and focus on my relationship with the Lord. As a Hopkins student with a rigorous, busy schedule, I find these moments are difficult to come by, so these retreats have become absolutely vital for my faith formation during my college experience.

We have a generous $10,000 challenge gift that will be unlocked as we hit milestones throughout advanced giving and the giving day! Half of the gift will be released once we reach $10,000 and the other half will be released once we reach $25,000.

If we reach the full $40,000, we’ll be able to make our Spring Retreat free for all students, and also keep retreat costs lower in the future so that retreats can continue to be affordable and accessible for us! Thank you and God bless!
