There are major drainage issues with the playground and the parking lot at school.
In the playground, it is causing the mulch to wash away. The drainage pipes under the mulch are not functioning properly and are either clogged or collapsed. The old mulch will need to be removed and new drainage system put in as well as new mulch.
The parking lot outside of the gymnasium and kitchen area is cracking and crumbling that is also due to drainage issues as well as the trash trucks and other large trucks that have to utilize this area. The proposed solution is to remove the existing asphalt and base, install a new proper base, and pour concrete instead of asphalt. This solution will allow the surface to be properly sloped for drainage and concrete as a stronger base and save on repair costs in the future.
The estimated cost for repair to both is $80,000-$100,000.
