Did you now that certain music is prescribed by the Church for our liturgy? Sacred music, truly written for use only in the Church has been a staple for at least 13 centuries. Music in the Catholic Church is an integral part of the liturgy that offers praise to God through song.

At JPII we strive to provide music that upholds and celebrates this tradition. Our Music Ministry is thriving. When we hired our first Music Director in 2019 we had 5 or 6 singers and no organ. Now we have an organ, a certified organist and 24 singers!

In addition, we view our mission to serve the university communities as very important. The University of North Texas is known for their music program, and we are very blessed to have these students to be a part of our choir. We feel that we are directed to help prepare the next generation of parish musicians. As such we have 8 scholarship students who serve as section leaders, cantors, recruiters and even substitute directors.

Your donation supports the student scholarships, instrumental maintenance, operational costs, and payment for our canotors and organist. T
