Answering the Call: The Story Behind Seminarian Giving Day
"When I entered seminary, I never imagined how deeply formative this time would be — hours of prayer, rigorous study, and daily lessons in serving God’s people with humility and joy.” - Richard Ordos, seminarian for the Archdiocese of Seattle
Richard Ordos is one of a growing number of young men from the Archdiocese of Seattle who are answering God’s call to the priesthood. Currently in the Configuration Stage of formation, he is deepening his understanding of who he is called to be.
“None of this would be possible without the generosity of people who believe in this vocation,” Richard says. “Your support reminds me that I am not discerning this call alone.”
The cost of forming a seminarian for one full year, including tuition, room and board, books, and pastoral training, is significant. On August 4, the Archdiocese of Seattle is hosting its second annual Seminarian Giving Day, with a goal of raising $240,000, which covers the cost of four seminarians' tuition, room and board for a year.
Every gift makes a difference. Every vocation is a blessing. There is still time to make your gift and help form the next generation of priests for the Archdiocese of Seattle.
