Since 1953, St. Thomas More has stood on our little corner of Greene Street as the Catholic home for generations of University of South Carolina students.

It is more than a church near campus. It is a second home. It is a place where students discover their purpose, deepen their faith, and find a community that knows them, supports them, and reminds them that they belong.

That community is alive every day.

It is more than 60 Bible studies bringing together over 600 students each week. It is daily Mass, Sunday Suppers, fall and spring retreats, coffee shared between classes, music and games, and long afternoons spent studying around the dining room table.

It is meeting students on campus and welcoming them home on Greene St.

During Welcome Week alone, Gamecock Catholics gathered for karaoke, Catholic Night at the Fireflies, Mass, coffee, campus outreach, a Student Leadership Team retreat, and our first one-day freshman retreat, where 25 new students began building friendships rooted in faith.

These moments may look ordinary, but together they shape lives.

The impact of campus ministry cannot be overstated. With 79% of young adults no longer practicing their faith by the time they finish college, these years matter profoundly.
