Who We Are

For over 83 years, St. Martin de Porres Catholic School has always demonstrated a strong commitment to enriching the lives of children. St. Martin de Porres is located in the Historic Waverly Community in downtown Columbia. The school sits in a neighborhood that is home to two historically black colleges, Allen University and Benedict College. The neighborhood surrounding the school was once a thriving middle-class black community. Presently, many of the homes are vacant or used as rental property. However, the school’s mission and commitment continue to be that of enriching the lives of all children who enter our doors.
